Star Trek : Miri. Guide for Parental Units of Geeks

Content:

Miri is pretty safe to watch with kids.

There is a bit of violence, when the Onlies bop bop Captain Kirk on the head. The sores are gross. And there is one early scene that shows the full effects of the disease. That image can be a little disturbing. See it here and judge for yourself.

There isn’t any sex, though Miri has a crush on Kirk. No big deal there.

Questions:

Are there any characters in this story that act like Jesus?

How do they act like Jesus? Is it in things that they say or do?

Do you identify with the Onlies or with the Grups?

If you landed on this planet, how would you try to convince the Onlies that they were dying?

How can your strategy for announcing death to the Onlies be adapted to evangelism?
