“Seriously, the layers of fears represented in the 1979 film are far more than xenophobia and the unknown. What is most eerie about the film is that the threats are all too familiar.”

Here he confronts the brutality presented in many mainstream comics.
“Comic books, which once sold in the hundreds of thousands per issue, now sell in the tens of thousands (if they’re lucky), and ten year olds don’t read them anymore.
A story like “When Lois First Suspected Clark Was Superman” couldn’t be published today, at least not with a straight face.
Some would say that comics have grown up and matured.”

I love the Trial season.
I hate Mindwarp. Only because of the crap way they dispose of Peri though. Peri was annoying a lot of the time. This was solved by adding an even more annoying companion in the next story and making Peri bald.
Anyway, this is a fine review of one of my favorite periods of Doctor Who history.
Meanwhile, I’m wishing I was home so I could finish my stinking Prometheus write-up!
